Comic Review: Black Butler

There is alot at the library that I never heard of like the Black Butler author:Yana Toboso license by Yen Press. When I first saw the manga Black Butler in the Central Library I thought it look interesting because of the cover and the inside there where they show some of the character  in black in white with a certain colored item on them. After reading a few chapter in Volume 1, I thought Black Butler was going to be boring until the last chapter called Chapter 4 At Midnight: My Butler, The Greatest Evil when the manga finally reveal its true plot and colors.

In the first volume you to meet the servant to Ciel Phantomhive head of the Phantomhive noble family and the business-savvy owner of the Funtom company, a toy manufacturer. The servant at first glance are clumsy, but hold great talents
The Character Profile of Mey-rin
Mey-rin is the Phantomhive's Maid.
She clumsy because of her eye-sight, and she has a major crush on Sebastian ,the butler, for a long time. She use to be a sniper and never needed a scope because of her extremely far sightedness, and she wear glasses to help her focus on her job

A character profile of Bardroy
Bardroy is the Phantomhive's chief.

He not the best cook around the country of England. He often use a flame-thrower to cook the meal fast, but result in explosion and disaster. Bradroy's past only he was an American Soldier in a war.

 

A Character Profile of Finnian

Finnian/Finny is the Phantomhive's Gardner.

He funny, optimistic, energetic, young, naïve, very strong and often kills the plants he take care of. Usually wear a straw hat that hides a tattoos (S-012). His past as a test subject for a mysterious drug to gave him his mysterious strength.

 

Tanaka is the Phantomhive House Steward often seen in this design drinking tea and laughing, but this the true Tanaka. He was there when Ciel 's parent were killed and Ciel kidnapped. He was stab by an unseen attacker and remain loyal to the Phantomhive Family.

The Character Profile of Sebastian

Sebastian is the only capable servant in the Phantomhive estate often do everything the other servant fail to do. Secretly is a soul-eating demon summon during a ritual with Ciel as the sacrifices and still remain in a contract with him. 

Their many more servant with the Phantomhive Family throughout the manga  and I suggest reading them.
The Story in mainly mystery working for the Queen in various of cases often paranormal like Grim Reaper, Corrupt People, Foreign Royalty, etc. There is no clear antagonist, but watch the Anime and read the Manga for more info   

Black Butler is a sophisticated manga set in the Victorian period. This manga is a mixed of fantasy and mystery like Sherlock Holmes with a demon sidekick instead of Dr. Watson. I have to warn you that there are horrific, bloody scene in the manga. For example in Volume VIII (8) The servants of the Phantomhive family brutally slaughter the Noah Ark Circus folks. Overall Black Butler is a scary manga yet intense moment that will have you on the edge of your seat.
